What's the difference between an open-air booth and the old-school curtain booth?

An open-air photo booth uses a backdrop instead of a curtain — meaning more guests fit in the photo, the space feels welcoming instead of cramped, and the line moves faster. Plus, the photos look like real portraits, not booth-y snapshots. It’s the modern Chicago photo booth standard.

Can we customize the backdrop?

Yes — we offer custom step-and-repeat backdrops printed with your logo, brand colors, or wedding palette. Standard sequin and floral backdrops are included at no extra cost. Custom backdrops add 30 minutes to setup.

How many photo strips do guests get?

Unlimited. Every session prints one 2×6 strip per guest in the photo (so a group of 4 gets 4 strips). Most Chicago events use 200–400 strips total over the booking.

How much space does the open-air booth need?

An 8′ × 8′ floor area minimum, with at least 8 feet of overhead clearance, and one standard 110V outlet within 25 feet. We coordinate the footprint with your Chicago venue during booking.
